Three ways to make your banner

  1. From a photo

    Choose a wide photo or artwork. Drag and zoom until the subject sits nicely across the three pieces. Fit keeps the whole image; Fill covers every tile edge to edge.

  2. From a blank canvas

    No photo needed. Start with a gradient or a solid color, then type your name, a short quote or your @handle in the Text panel.

  3. Photo plus text

    Put a word or two over your image. Turn on Outline so the text stays readable on a busy background, then set the size and height with the sliders.

Design tips that survive the split

A banner is three small thumbnails side by side. These habits keep it readable at that size.

  • Watch the two cut lines. They sit at one third and two thirds of the width, and TikTok shows a thin gap there. Let a big word run across them on purpose, but don't park a thin letter right on a line.
  • Keep the corners clear. TikTok puts a view count in the bottom-left of every post and a red Pinned tag in the top-left of pinned posts. Switch on TikTok labels under Adjust to see exactly where they land.
  • Go big and high-contrast. On a phone each tile is only about a third of the screen wide. Short text, heavy fonts and strong color differences read best.
  • Give the middle something to look at. The center tile is where eyes land first, so put the main subject or the key word there.
  • Want posts that fill the screen when opened? Turn on Full-screen tiles. Each post becomes 9:16, and the profile grid still shows the same middle 3:4.

After you save

  1. Post right to left

    Post the tile marked 1st, which is the right piece, then the 2nd and the 3rd. Each one is its own photo post.

  2. Pin in the same order

    Pin the 1st, then the 2nd, then the 3rd. The newest pin shows first, so the left piece ends up top-left.

  3. Check your profile

    Open your profile and look at the top row. If a piece is out of place, unpin all three and pin them again right to left.

Can I make a TikTok banner without a photo?
Yes. Choose Start with a blank banner, pick a color or gradient, and type your name, a quote or your @handle. You get three tiles just like a photo banner.
Can I add text to my banner?
Open the Text panel. There are three fonts, an outline for busy backgrounds, any color you like, and sliders for size and position. The text is drawn across all three pieces, so a big word can span the whole banner.
What size is a TikTok banner?
The full banner is 3240 × 1440 pixels and each of the three tiles is 1080 × 1440, the 3:4 shape of a TikTok profile thumbnail. Full-screen tiles are 1080 × 1920 with the same 3:4 area in the middle.
Why do letters look cut on my profile?
TikTok leaves a thin gap between posts, and it falls exactly on the two cut lines. A thin letter sitting on a cut line can look broken. Nudge the text a little or make it bigger so the gap lands between letters.
Do I have to pin the banner?
No, but it helps. Your newest post always shows first, so the banner slides out of the top row as soon as you post something else. TikTok lets you pin three posts, which is exactly one banner.
